Career Paths in Food & Drink

September 28 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

- Free

Are you studying a science, technology or engineering subject?  The food and drink sector needs you!

This event will broaden your awareness of future job prospects in Scotland’s Food & Drink sector.  Speakers from a range of food and drink professions and organisations will demonstrate a diverse range of career options.

The Scottish Food & Drink sector has experienced significant growth in recent years.  The sector is experiencing a skills shortage in technical disciplines such as food science and technology and engineering.  Through the whole food supply chain this presents a wide array of career opportunities for STEM qualified students.  In Scotland, the sector requires 19,000 new recruits by 2024.

Our speakers will share with you their personal career path in 3 slides and in 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.  The event will also incorporate a speed networking session with the professionals and a CV Session.  The event will conclude with informal networking over some food and wine.

Who should attend

This event offers women studying science, technology, or engineering at Scottish Universities and Colleges the chance to explore the potential STEM career opportunities in this growing industry.  STEM subject lecturers are also welcome to attend.

Students travelling out with Glasgow will have their VAT receipted travel expenses reimbursed up to a max of £15 per person.  Travel expenses claim forms will be issued to students on the night of the event.
